Fitness Friday: Back Pain Relief?

The first Friday of the new year – what are you doing for fitness today? I am walking (while listening to my mp3 player, loving it) and doing some Oxycise.

If you don’t know, I have a bad back…very touchy/crabby/finicky back that sometimes hates me.  I’ve had nearly chronic back pain for the past 4-5 years.  I am overall doing SOOO much better than I was a year or two ago, for which I am extremely thankful.  A large part of that is due to my awesome chiropractor, but some other things I think have helped as well.  One of them is this little device.  Lumbar Extender sent me their Lumbar Extender Plus a while back.  My immediate thoughts were that it wasn’t really helpful or doing anything, but the more time I’ve had it and used it, I’m finding it really helpful.  If you overwork a bit or maybe were in a weird position weeding or working on something, just lay down on the LE and, besides being quite relaxing, it gently stretches your back.  It came with 2 plates – a smooth one and a nubby one for trigger points, as well as 3 levels of stretch.  I mostly keep it on the lowest, as I find that is just enough for me.  When you assemble it (which is very easy by the way), you wonder if it can bend to change positions.  I was a bit worried that it might break or just not even bend, but it’s very very sturdy and seems well made to last a lifetime.  I recommend this if you suffer from back pain or often have a tight back.

Found on amazon, as well as a similar product, Back Magic (though I’m not sure that they are exactly the same product)

Any health devices/gadgets you’ve been enjoying lately?  I’d love to hear.

*Product was sent to me for review purposes.  I was not compensated – this is my honest review.

  1. Thanks for this review. My husband has back/neck/shoulder issues and I think I will get one of these (or the Magic, for $ sake) to try. I really like the simplicity.

  2. Hi Kelly!
I know many people that suffer from back pain that have seen great success with a Chiropractor as well! Great review. Happy Friday! Tara xo
